Architectural History
The architectural monuments of Marrakech reflect a rich Moroccan history, mixing Arab, Andalusian, and Berber influences. Among them, the famous Koutoubia Mosque, with its 77-meter minaret, is a masterpiece of Almohad architecture. The Marrakech medina is also home to the Bahia Palace, a sumptuous complex of gardens and finely decorated rooms. Not far away, the Saadian tombs impress with their chiseled patterns and majestic beauty. Finally, the Ben Youssef Madrasa, a former Koranic school, fascinates with its colorful mosaics and refined architecture.
